Cultural Mapping of Nossa Senhora Village and Ká Hó
Applying QGIS system for cultural mapping holds significant academic and practical value. As a powerful geographic information system tool, QGIS provides technical support for the digital preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage.
By systematically presenting ten cultural landmarks in spatial data format - namely Sam Seng Temple, Hold on Hope Cafe, ARTM, ARTM Art Exhibition, Don Bosco Youth Village, Nossa Senhora Village (Former site of the Leprosarium), Nossa Senhora Village (Our Lady of Sorrows Church), Escola de S. José Ká Hó, Escola Dom Luis VersigLia, and Centro De Santa Lucia - this initiative not only enhances the spatial visualization and information management efficiency of cultural heritage, but also provides scientific foundations for the protection, monitoring, and planning of cultural resources.
As an interdisciplinary research tool, cultural mapping facilitate multi-dimensional analysis of cultural heritage, supporting sustainable development in cultural inheritance, educational promotion, and cultural tourism. Meanwhile, QGIS as a robust geospatial platform drives technological innovation in digital heritage preservation, strengthening the integration of traditional culture with modern information technology. This integration carries important theoretical significance and promising application prospects.
